La Llorona is an ancient Mexican folk talke perpetuated by the patriarchal system of Mexico to oppress women. Kuetzpal Vasquez is reinterpreting these myths. In this work, she renders la Llorona as a gentle woman who watches over a baby to ensure that they are not harmed.
